Spring??

Classes started back up again today at RIT, and I'm really glad. I was starting to feel the lazy coming in. Spring here we come finally?

I finally got to scanning some of my bigger pieces from the winter quarter:

This piece was done for an assignment were I had to show an impossible meeting. I was in this romantic sort of mood and God knows how much coffee I have in my life, so it only seemed fitting. Oil paint and oil pastels. I LOVE this technique, I just wish i did this a little bigger so I could get more details in.

These two were for a book cover and title page assignment. I was looking at the work of Gris Grimley before I started. This is a technique I use in a lot of my sketches that I wanted to experiment at a larger scale. Gouache, colored pencil, and ink.

And this is a thumbnail from a larger graphic novel spread I did. I based the story off of my own experience of getting my tarot cards read. So, yes, that's me, green and pink eye shadow and all! However, this is the only frame in the spread I was at all happy with. Acrylic and colored pencil.

On a side note I had three pieces accepted into ArtAwake!!

Also, I'm getting back into knitting and crocheting, in the hopes of earning some extra cash with some neat original pieces. I think I'll blog about that later! haha
